In this tutorial video, you will be learning the process of registering online for a TSTC college course using WebAdvisor.

In order to proceed and log in to WebAdvisor you must first acquire your user name and password by either clicking the link titled "What's my User ID" under the log-in page and fill in the information or by calling the TSTC help desk at (956) 364-5000.

1 First proceed to WebAdvisor.tstc.edu and click log in and go ahead and log in using your information.

2 Once you're logged into the system, locate and select the STUDENTS selection in the menu on the right.

This will bring you to the Student Menu with a plethora of links to choose from.

3 Click "Register for Sections" (the link under the Sub Menu "Registration").

(If the course number and section is known)
4 Click the link "Express Registration".

(If the course information is unknown)
5 Click the link "Search and register for sections"

Either selection you make you're going to see a new page which requires
verification of your mailing address, e-mail address, phone number.

6 Click submit

(Be advised if you haven't verified the information in the past 60 days, you will
automatically be taken to a page which has all of that information.

If you have verified your information within the last 60 days you will be taken directly
to the Search and Register for sections form.)

7 (Let's say you do not have the course information) go ahead and select the subject menu
for the 1st course you'll be registering for.

8 Now select the particular subject that you're looking to be enrolled in.

9 Before you click submit, be sure to select the correct term you're registering for.
The term selection is found under the main title of the page.

10 Also, if you're looking for a certain time period in which the course is occuring,
you can select the time period you're looking for in 2 different selection menus.

First, locate the "Sections Meeting After" drop down box, then select the time you're
looking for.

11 Then click on the "Sections Meeting Before" drop down box (found right next to "Sections
Meeting After" drop down box), go ahead and select the latest you would want a class to end.

12 The time period is not the only you can determine, you may also select the certain days
of the class that you're most interested in.

You'll notice the check box for Monday through Sunday found below the "Sections Meeting After" and "Sections Meeting Before" drop down menus.

Select the days you are willing to take a class.

13 Click submit

14 If there is not any courses available that meet your criteria, the page will "reload"
w/ the text, "No classes meeting the search criteria have been found" found on the top of
the page.

You will need to change the days you selected or the time period.

When registering for courses, be sure to choose the upcoming or ongoing term. Again, follow the same process as above, enter the course information in the on-line form, and click submit.

You now understand WebAdvisor and you have the knowledge of registering for courses online. This will certainly help you for future preferences, as you will be able to register for classes using WebAdvisor, instead of taking time to meet with an academic advisor.

Graphic Artist's Hidden Treasure...

I choose the "tech tool" Envato.com. This tool helps graphic artist to both learn how to create as well as sell their own digital artwork and design. It provides in depth tutorials for four different graphic medians--sound, web, vector based art (illustrator), and photoshop (raster based art). I use this website constantly to help better my design elements and technique. My first step would be to estimate how many graphic artist would use this tool. I could do so by taking a survey of TSTC's aspiring graphic artists. I discovered this tool from a fellow graphic artist.

They should have worked with a large product catalog sets for e-commerce and be an energy driven employee comfortable in a high-growth, changing environment. The ad uses technical terms and professional, precise descriptions of what the ideal future employee should be capable of. The focus of the cover letter should be that the web designer has knowledge and strengths in the programs and file types mentioned, with out being to specific, and at least express some readiness to help the company with it's needs. Interstering Blog

I found a blog on YouTheDesigner.com entitled "Propoganda Posters Part 1 U.S.A" ( click here ). It is a fairly short blog that explains a little about WWI and WWII propoganda in the United States. There are a quite few very good examples in the blog in both World Wars.

I also found a blog titled "12 Steps to a Supper Graphic Design Portfolio" on YouTheDesigner.com ( click here ) that gives good direction to the graphic designer looking to build a professional portfolio.

I choose the blog "Little Shop of Horrors" from Dooce.com ( found here ). This blog is more than likely directed to people interested in parenthood or friends of the writer. I suppose a dental hygienist or two would probably get a laugh from this blog/ short story. The central focus of this blog is an sadisticly amusing episode of discomfort the writer's child had at the dentist's office. She wrote the story in a very interesting manner that grabbed my attention after the first few sentences. She uses humorous past experiences to support her story and keep the reader intersted. This helps her to keep her digital identity as laid back, level-headed "blogger".

My Personal Intro Essay

My name is Lee Davis and I am a full-time student at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in Harlingen, Texas. I am pursuing my Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design, or Digital Media Design as it is labeled here at TSTC. I am hoping to graduate this semester and obtain a job in the field of graphic design as soon as possible.

I plan on searching San Antonio for a position in the field of graphicdesign as soon as I graduate. I hope to live with a family member who is currently residing there. Only for a short while of course. I believe that in obtaining my degree I will have gained the knowledge needed to successfully achieve the goals put forth on me by my employer.

Composition classes have helped me to equip myself with the knowledge of how to correctly present my ideas and myself while with proper grammar and etiquette. I believe this is extremely important in my career because in order to get my message across thoroughly I need to know correct rhetoric and correct grammar to use to present them. And I believe this course and the other Composition courses will help to fulfill these goals by doing so.Other than school and trying to better myself in my career I love to be with my girlfriend, Linda, and our puppy, Jack. Jack is a ten-month-old female Jack Russell Terrier. I also play paintball every weekend and travel all over Texas and the United States to play in tournaments and practice better teams. I love to travel, especially with my girlfriend. I’ve traveled to places like Huntington Beach, California and Tampa Bay, Florida just to hang out and play in a very large paintball tournament. I also very much enjoy playing the guitar, and have played in a few bands in years past; however, I do not currently.
